Composite Material Cage

A composite cage is a bearing component made from a combination of materials whose primary function is to isolate and guide the movement of the rolling elements within the bearing. By combining the advantages of different materials, composite cages are able to provide superior performance under extreme conditions.

  1. High strength and high rigidity: Composite materials combine the advantages of metal and plastic, so they have high strength and rigidity.
  2. Good wear resistance and corrosion resistance: These characteristics make the composite cage better resistant to wear and corrosion during use, extending the service life of the bearing.
  3. Low density: Carbon carbon composite material as a new, lightweight, high temperature resistant material, one of its significant advantages is low density, which helps to reduce the overall weight and improve mechanical efficiency.
  4. Excellent high temperature mechanical properties and ablative properties: carbon-carbon composite cages can still maintain good mechanical properties and ablative resistance in high temperature environments, which is particularly important for high temperature working environments such as aircraft engines.
  5. Good anti-friction and anti-wear performance: polymer materials (such as nylon, phenolic tape, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc.) as non-metallic cage materials, have good sliding performance, and can produce only small friction when the relative movement with the lubricated rolling element surface, thereby reducing the heat and wear of the bearing.
